My Problem With John McCain

I’ve often said that I don’t care for John McCain as a Presidential Candidate. It’s no secret. He has many shortcomings in my opinion, the least of which is his sensitivity to criticism, or the fear of it.

Don’t get me wrong, I think John McCain is a fine American and honorable, I just don’t think he’s Presidential material. More so than the Democratic challengers obviously, but not really the best of the field.

Yeah, I know early voting has started and I probably should have done my research on local candidates (Montgomery County Texas and East Montgomery County) who will be running in the March 4th Primaries. But as they say, better late than never!

Bill Clinton Stumps For Hillary In Houston And No One Shows Up

I knew that Hillary’s Presidential campaign was in big trouble, but I didn’t realize how much trouble her campaign was in until hubby Bill Clinton made a campaign stop in Houston tonight.

There was no shortage of media coverage prior to Bill Clinton’s campaign speech, however once Clinton showed up, over an hour and half late, the 8000 seat U of H facility looked deserted. Conservative estimates put the number of attendees to Bill Clinton’s campaign stop at around 2000 but if you watch the short news clip, there’s hardly anyone in the seats. It’s also a helluva lot less than the 17,000 that showed up at the Barak “Osama” Bama speech Tuesday night at the Toyota Center.

I still find it amazing how fast Houston is growing. I laugh every time I hear one of those know-it-all’s on TV News say that Houston’s economy is slowing down or that home sales are declining. Don’t believe it for a minute!

I can’t get over how some outlying areas are just exploding with growth. Now for most people that might sound okay. The problem lies in the fact that many people moved out to these outlying areas to get away from the traffic congestion, crime and everything else the urban life brings with it.

You know, it’s one of the things that surprises most people from out of State. That one thing is how many places serve liquor before Noon and during Lunch. I hear from my out of State clients quite often that they can’t believe there are so many places that serve liquor during the Lunchhour. Bobby Knight Resigns From Texas Tech

Bobby Knight has resigned from Texas Tech. No reason was given at this time. His son will continue to coach Texas Tech for the remainder of the season. Bobby Knight coached the Red Raiders to 5 20 win seasons since taking over the coaching job at Texas Tech in 2001.

Bobby Knight came to Texas Tech from Indiana where he won 3 National Championships for the Hoosiers.

Does The TxDot Think Before They Do Anything?

How many of us in Houston have known that the TxDot is about as brain dead as they come? I’m not sure where they’re getting their Civil Engineers, you know, the guys who shut down 4 lanes of a 6 lane highway and those 4 lanes have no construction workers on them? It’s these same guys who decided the Beltway 8 exchange at I-10 on the West side needed rebuilt…why? They’re not sure why, they just know it needed rebuilt.
