Austin Store Clerk Kills Thief – Gets Charged With Murder

I saw this headline, but didn’t believe any clerk would be charged for shooting a rotten thief. Maybe in New York or California, but not here in Texas. But such is true. Of course, you had to know it would be in Austin. It’s just like New York or California, just in a smaller package.
Anyway, this theif grabs some beer and takes off from this C store. Clerk follows him outside and unleashes 12 rounds at him. The perp gets in a getaway car driven by his buddy and passes out. Apparently one of the 12 rounds found its mark. Buddy freaks out and ditches his car with his buddy still inside. Then after a while he calls 911 to tell them where the car is.
When the Police find the getaway driver, he’s in the middle of reporting his car being stolen. After some questioning, he admits the whole deal.
Now the Cops go back to the C store and arrest the clerk for shooting the thief. The clerks apparently picked up the brass and put it in his car, picked up the dropped beer and put it in the trash.
Sorry, I don’t see a problem here!
I’m sick and tired of hearing people say “It’s not worth killing someone over a 12 pack of beer”.
Well, you know what? When the thief stole the beer, he was telling everyone that his life was worth the price of a 12 pack (or 6 pack, whatever it was). Because the moment he made the decision to steal, that’s when he put a value on his life.
Why blame the clerk, or anyone else for that matter, for punching his clock? If the thief thought his life was more than a pack of beer, he should have acted like it.
I get fed up with these slimy liberals whining about crooks when they get what they have coming at the end of a gun barrel. It’s the crooks who are deciding that their actions are worth their life, not the victims they prey on.
If the liberal establishment in Austin goes ahead and puts this kid on trial for shooting this thug, I hope there are at least one or two real Texans on the jury who can explain to the rest of the liberals and would-be thieves that honest people are fed up with them and aren’t going to take it any longer.

I soooo hate living in Austin too! I’m a member of a national web page where I tell people all the time that although they can read some pretty awesome things about Austin…DON’T MOVE HERE!
It’s such a liberal place that it just kills me sometimes! We have had multiple run ins with the law and them not doing anything…and then this happens? IDK where these Travis County Prosecutors are getting their educations, but I’d bet it’s right here too! I’m stuck here with a domicile restriction in my divorce, with a job waiting for me in North Carolina! No amount of money is worth leaving my kids here unattended…
