Bush Works Against Texas In Illegals Death Penalty Case

The Bush Administration is working hard to stop Texas’ planned execution of an illegal alien, Jose Ernesto Medellin, convicted of killing two young girls back in 1994.

Why? Well, according to the Bush camp, the illegal alien was never told he could ask for help from the Mexican consulate. In other words, Bush says Medellin’s civil rights were violated because no one told him he could contact the Mexican consulate.

What help did this scum bag need? He wrote out a confession of how the rape and strangulation of the two girls happened. That would be good enough for anyone else, but apparently not the Bush Administration.

Someone stop the world from spinning and let me get off!

Mexico sues the United States in the International Court of Justice

The president wants to enforce a decision by the International Court of Justice that found the convictions of Medellin and 50 other Mexican-born prisoners violated their rights to legal help as outlined in the 1963 Vienna Convention.

This is the same International Court that the Bush Administration said it would ignore if it makes similar rulings on State criminal matters.

The administration said in arguments filed with the International court

The president does not agree with the International Court of Justice’s interpretation of the Vienna Convention

The U.S. agreed to abide by the international court’s decision because ignoring it would harm “American interests abroad“, the Bush Administration said.

Can anyone tell me what those “American interest abroad” are? I mean, other than upsetting the Mexican Government?

Do you think that if this guy had been a Canadian or other foreigner from any other place other than Mexico that the Bush Administration would have cared?

I’m still waiting for the real reason why the current administration bends over backwards and kisses the Mexican Governments butt and walks on egg shells around them. I have a feeling that not only Bush, but many corporate leaders have big plans for the U.S. and Mexico after he leaves Office. I’m also sure I want nothing to do with it!

All the while the families of these two young girls have been waiting 13 years for justice to be served on this scum bag.
