And like many of you, I’m not really happy with the candidates that the Conservatives have fielded for the 2012 Presidential election. That’s why I would support a Conservative like Rick Perry for President in 2012! Of the candidates that are already out there, my favorites would be Herman Cain and Michelle Bachmann. But I don’t know enough about Herman Cain and I think Michelle Bachmann is a good choice, just not the best choice at this time.

I also think that Rick is the only one who could soundly defeat Obama in 2012. Rick may be many things, but several there are several things he’s proven.

1. He knows how to run a successful campaign. And he knows how to defeat Liberal Democrats. After the thrashing he gave Bill White, I think it was just some practice to move onto a National stage.
2. He has a positive history of creating jobs and getting an economy moving. Not only that, but once it’s moving he can keep it going. Nearly every State in the Union is suffering, Texas has remained the bright spot in how to do things. Low taxes, favorable business climate, forward thinking leaders.
3. Perry is likable and charismatic. McCain had a likable issue. Sure, people wanted like him, but it was hard. Perry on the other hand is a great BS’er and could probably sell ice cubes to Eskimos.
4. Obama has done such a poor job, that someone like Perry could keep the issues front and center. That’s a place where Obama doesn’t want to play.

I think I’ll go ahead and go out on a limb and say it will be a Perry/Bachmann 2012 campaign. Go ahead and mark that one down in your book and put me down as having said it first! It would be a wildly successful train that the Obama/Biden station couldn’t stop!

Our illustrious Governor stopped over in Mexico today so he could bash all of us who are in favor of a border fence. I also imagine his aids had to pry his lips off the butt of the Mexican President afterwards.

Perry was in Mexico on a so called Trade Mission. There were also many business leaders from around the state in Mexico begging for Mexican contracts and probably lining up some Mexican workers.

You want to know why immigration is not a big deal to politicians? One reason is that the Politicians do not want to upset the campaign donors. It’s a power thing. In order to get more campaign donations, they suck up to whoever is donating the money. At this time, it happens to be the U.S. Corporations. To hell with what is good for U.S. Citizens, it’s the campaign dollars that really matter.

So  Perry, seeing an opportunity to pack away some good measures for future political gain, scurried down to Mexico on Texas taxpayers money in order to do two things. Suck up the Mexicans and suck up to U.S. Corporations. He’s succeeded on both accounts.

If you believe that the 2008 Elections are meaningless and that you’ll vote for “whoever is winning at the time”, then you should just do everyone a favor and stay home and watch Oprah. Your country is going down the tube and you can’t muster enough Will Power to do a few minutes of research and educate yourself about the issues.

The Republicans felt the wrath of the voters at the last elections. Still, many have not learned their lessons. They’re quick to point out that they lost because of the Iraq war and will point to polling survey’s to prove their point. They never stop and realize that in order to be counted in poll survey’s, one must be at the polls in the first place.

No, they lost the election because many Republican voters were fed up with the way they acted like Democrats and their lack of action of immigration…so the voters stayed at home.

Politicians such as Perry are looking over their noses at us and we’re letting it happen. Come 2008, we’d better send another message to Washington and Austin.

Lt. Governor David Dewhurst has made it no secret he wants to be Governor. He let us down at the last sessionwhen he caved into Senator Whitemires intimidation and fit throwing when it came to the Voter ID bill. I say this is reason enough to show Dewhurst the unemployment line. If he caves and buckles to a bully like Whitmire, what will happen when he faces heads of State or other push politicians? He’s showed us that he will not stand up for Texans, so why should Texans show up for Dewhurst?

What is the HB2006? It’s the Eminent Domain bill.

Here’s a summary of the HB 2006:

The Texas Constitution limits the use of the power of eminent domain by mandating that “No person’s property shall be taken, damaged or destroyed for or applied to public use without adequate compensation being made, unless by the consent of such person . . .”. The exercise of the power of eminent domain is generally recognized as a necessary tool of government; however, many have argued that over the years this power has been expanded and used in ways that are improper.

The purpose of C.S.H.B. 2006 is to make changes, additions, and deletions, to various codes and provisions in Texas law, in an attempt to reform the power, limitations, process, and various other issues surrounding the power of eminent domain and condemnation in this state.

That’s right. Gov. Perry plans on vetoing this bill if he doesn’t here from a lot of Texans, and quick. We only have till the end of the week, so burn up the phone lines and emails.

A few days ago our Gov. Rick Perry said that he was in favor of those with Concealed Carry Permits to be able to carry their guns anywhere, ie; churces, hospitals, university campuses, courhouses, bars, etc. I wonder if that means the Statehouse?

I really don’t have a problem with this. What I do have a problem with is the lack of training most CCP holders get. Not all permit holders are created equal! Some of us grew up with a Pistola, most didn’t. Even then, we still need training and I think the initial hours should be doubled to get a CCP.

I think this is an attempt at Perry to suck up to the Conservative base. Why, I don’t know. I’m betting that he was shocked that he couldn’t carry a majority of voters in the State. Then after the vacine fiasco, I’m sure he wasn’t feeling the love from his base.

We’ll have to wait and see what the Legislature does with this and whether or not Rick P. will get to sign this into law. Seems like if he wanted to make an Executive decision like he did with the vacine, he should have drumbed up this with an Executive Order!
