It looks like the <strike>chickens</strike> insurgents are coming to roost in Haditha and now the real truth is coming out.

A TIME magazine report is responsible for writing the story that started the Haditha Massacre Myth. It turns out that the writer of that article for TIME magazine, Jerusalem correspondent Tim McGirk, used a “Journalism Student” that was a known insurgent propagandist.

Imagine that, a newspaper reporter failing to perform a background check on his sources! TIME magazine has since been forced to admit that there were “a series of egregious errors”.

The TIME magazine article sparked worldwide anger and a call from Democrats such as John Murtha, for inquiries and charges brought against our Marines.

But Now That The Truth Is Out About The Incident At Haditha, What’s The Problem?

The problem is that now our U.S. Government, lead by our Commader In Chief, George Bush, are still pursuing charges against two Marines, even though an inquisition has recommended that all charges to be dropped due to the truth finally coming out.

But for some odd reason, George Bush, The Secretary of the Navy, The Secretary of Defense and Top Rankings Marine Officers still insist on charging two Marines for “the crime that wasn’t.” Any of these people could stop the court martial right now. But they refuse.

One of the Marines charged in the Haditha case is Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Chessani.

Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Chessani is a 20 plus year Veteran of the Marines and has 5 children with one on the way. He stands to lose his retirement pension and be dishonorably discharged if convicted. He also stands to do up to 3 years in Prison. Lt. Col. Chessani wasn’t at Haditha during the shootout, but the Top Brass is accusing him of “Dereliction of Duty.” Which means they have no evidence to charge him with anything.

Chessani has been called “a superb leader, who knows his men, knows the enemy, knows his business” by his peers. Some of these same peers are now trying to hang him and another Marine out to dry.

Charges have been dropped against all but these two Marines.

How You Can Help Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Chessani

The Thomas More Law Center is defending Lt. Col. Chessani. Donations are needed to continue the fight. Some reports say that the U.S. Government has spent as much as 40 MILLION dollars in trying to bring charges against Lt. Col. Chessani and the other Marine.

You can help by making a donation to the Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Chessani Defense Fund at the Thomas More Law Center.

The Thomas More Law Center is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax free.

So if you thought you were going to give money to the Republicans or Democrats this year, save it for something worthy, the Defense of an U.S. Marine who has been defending you for over 20 years.

Well, it seems that the O.J. Jurors have come to roost in Houston.

I say it “seems” that way because most of us haven’t hear all the testimony, but the parts of the trial we did here, it was clear to most folks that there should have been a guilty verdict in the trial of former TSU President Priscilla Slade.

Priscilla Slade is on trial for allegedly mishandling about $500,000 of TSU’s money. According to prosecutors, Slade spent a lot of this money on her $1 million plus Custom Home and landscaping as well as a few other perks.

Slade has stated that these were part of her contract with TSU.

Some contract huhn?

Slade’s attorney has said the purchases, such as furniture, landscaping and a bar tab, were necessary and legitimate in her role to improve the image of the historically black university.

I’d like to hear how all those perks were necessary and legitimate to improve the image of TSU?!

The jury consisted of 6 women and 6 men. The jury was all over the place. It seems they couldn’t decide which day it was most of the time.

On Wednesday they said they were deadlocked 8 to 4. Thursday they were deadlocked 7 to 5 and today there were deadlocked 6 to 6. The jury foreman sent the judge a note that said ”we cannot arrive at a unanimous verdict without doing violence to our consciences“.

Wow, just in time for the Weekend!

The Judge should have kept these Jurors sequestered there until they came to an agreement. I imagine that would have happened before Saturday so they wouldn’t miss their weekend. Priorities, priorities.

At one point, the jury asked the Judge how long Slade would get in prison if convicted. The Judge told them not to worry about that.

This alone seems to indicate that some of the Jurors were more worried about the time should be get rather than whether or not she was guilty.

I haven’t seen the makeup of the Jury yet, but it’s going to be interesting to see.

Once again we have a State Commission that fails to put Texas citizens first instead of Corporate profit.

Amy Davis of Channel 2 in Houston did an investigative report a few weeks ago about these hidden fees and other charges showing up on consumers electric bills. Word apparently got all the way to Austin the board of the Texas Public Utility Commission. here’s a little bit from the transcripts from last nights story.

At an Oct. 2 Public Utilities Commission meeting, commissioner Barry Smitherman told his fellow commissioners and the CEOs of several electric companies, “The press we’re getting right now is terrible.” Smitherman told them there has been a series of stories running in Houston. He’s referring to our investigation that showed you how a new state rule that was designed to protect consumers from unfair over-billing is now costing many of you more money.

But there’s more, lot’s more.

We introduced you to Paul Pinell. For more than a decade, meter readers never told Pinell they had any problems getting in to read his electric meter. But like thousands of others, this summer CenterPoint Energy told him if he didn’t keep his gate unlocked or pay $69 to install a meter that meter readers could read from the street, he’d be in the dark.

“I think it is confusing,” said Smitherman at the meeting.

Not only did PUC commissioners not know the details of the options CenterPoint has laid out for you, commissioners can’t seem to understand why its rule change is causing customers so many headaches.

Smitherman said, “You wouldn’t know it by the e-mails and stories they’re running that we’re trying to do folks a favor.”

I’ve said it all along. These people on the Commissions are so far removed from the lives of everyday Texans and so far into the pockets of the Corporations, there is no way they can, nor apparently want to, help us. Their chief concern is keeping the Corporations that line their pockets happy…and they do a good job of that.

They can no more relate to you and I than we can relate to a Catfish on the bottom of a lake.

Case in point. Ms. Davis points out this item of great confusion among the Commissioners. It’s a surcharge that CenterPoint Energy is charging customers to read their meters manually. It cost you $69 for them to read your meter. You’d think that would be an easy item to resolve. Perhaps for me and you, but not the Commissioners on the PUC Board.

At one point in the meeting, a PUC commissioner did seem concerned about charging consumers the full $69 for a remote-read meter on one bill.

Instead of telling CenterPoint it couldn’t do that, the commissioner asked the company if it would consider spreading the charge out over several months.

See, I told you so. Do anything except upset CenterPoint.

That’s not all. In East Texas where new digital meters are being installed by some of the Electric Companies, customers have received some outrageous bills. It’s obvious these new digital meters are not fool proof. It’s so bad that Customers have filed a lawsuit against the Electric companies because of inflated readings. You’d think this would be an excellent opportunity for the Texas Public Utility Commission to step up to the plate and help Texans. You’d be thinking wrong.

All they could do was harp on what a great idea the digital meters were. Screw the consumers! These new digital meters may inflate readings, but hey, they’re a great idea for revenue for the Electric Companies!

Some east Texas cities are suing electric companies there for what they claim are inflated readings by the new meters.

This is how your commissioners reacted to those concerns at that Oct. 2 meeting. Commissioner Paul Hudson said, “I, too, am excited about them (the digital meters) and if there’s anything we can do to help talk up the potential benefits, I think we should take that opportunity.”

Smitherman seemed just as enthusiastic when he said, ” We’ve all got to be on the same page about the value of these digital meters.”

That’s right. PUC Commissioners spent much of the meeting advocating, not for you the consumer, but for the rollout of the new advanced digital meters.

The discussion covered several facets of our story except how they can help you with your electric bill.

The head of PUC’s customer service department said, “Some folks are looking for sensationalism.”

What did I tell ya? They don’t get it and probably never will.

You really need to go to Click2Houston.com and watch the video. The looks on the faces of these Commissioners as they tried to weasel their way out of the tough issues says it all. They didn’t have a freakin’ answer for anything.

They looked and acted like you had walked into the barn and caught them with their pants down around their ankles in the sheep stall.

If you’d like to contact Barry Smitherman, the PUC Commissioner, and let him know what a poor job he’s doing protecting Texas consumers, here’s his email address: barry.smitherman@puc.state.tx.us and here’s his phone number: 512-936-7025

If you’d like to contact the other Commissioners and also let them know what a poor job they’re doing, here’s where you can find their contact info, all except Julie Caruthers Parsley, her contact info isn’t on her Bio page as the other Commissioners are. Go figure

I’ve been loosely following this HISD proposed Bond issue for the last several weeks and I keep having a nagging question come up.

Why is the HISD groveling at the feet of the Houston Chapter of the NAACP?

Well, okay, I know that answer. Just like you know it. HISD believes that if it get’s the Houston Chapter of the NAACP and its members behind the Bond proposal, then it will pass.

The Superintendent is practically bending over backwards and kissing their butts.

I drove past a HISD school the other day and saw Mexican kids, Caucasian kids, Asian kids, Indian kids and Black kids on the grounds. Do all the other races not count or does HISD figure they already have their vote or that they can overcome any negative voting by other races if only they can get the NAACP and their members to vote for the Bond issue?

From what I understand of the issue, HISD hired outside consultants to work out a plan of what would be the best route to make improvements to the schools of HISD. Closing some schools, merging others, building news ones…etc…etc.

However, the Houston Chapter of the NAACP isn’t happy with the experts findings and they want it done their way or they’ll raise hell and tell their members to vote against the Bond issue. This has HISD scared.

Does this sound a little like a Special Interest group trying to get more entitlements for its members? You know what they say; if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck and looks like a duck, it must be another entitlement based program!

I’m glad I don’t have to pay property tax in Harris County. I couldn’t stomach all the crap that the rest of you are fixing to be forced to swallow at the hands of the HISD and the Houston Chapter of the NAACP!

Personally, I think we should allow all Special Interest Groups to join in the policy making decision. Bring on the NRA, AARP, PETA, GreenPeace and others! Hey, where’s LULAC on this???

Cindy Sheehan and Rosie O’Donnell are leaving. I thought that the sun was a little brighter this week, the air a little more crisp and the sound of the birds a little more clear.

I guess someone finally told Cindy that “no one cares” about what she had to say. She probably figured that after dishonoring her dead son and ruining her marriage by being a puppet ass of the Liberal anti-war groups, there just wasn’t much left for her to accomplish in life!

And she’s probably right.

Rosie left “The View” after getting into it with another slim, pretty, co-host. What’s up with that? If a person didn’t know any better, you’d think Rosie has something against slim good lookin’ female celebs? Something like….envy?

You know, Donald Trump was sooo right when he said that she was a loser and everything she touched, she destroyed. A truer statement could not be made about a person. All you have to do is look at her to see that she is a miserable person. She needs help.

Now, if the Senate will get the gonads to stand up to the President and tell him that this Amnesty bill is no good, life will be soooo suhweeet!

The Houston Federation of Teachers recently polled 3000 of its Houston Indpendent School District members and about half said that they were not happy with the Bonus system started last year for Teachers who improved their TAKS test. (let me guess, that would the half that didn’t get the bonus?)

According to Gayle Fallon of the Teachers Union;

“There’s a significant number in that survey that feel that they ought to scrap the whole idea and give a decent across-the-board raise,”

It looks like the School Union is trying to do a little fuzzy math here. It only surveyed 3000 members, yet there are over 12,000 members in the HISD. I wonder who chose the 3000? Hmmmm.

The bonus system is quite simple. If the kids improve on their test scores, Teach gets a bonus. If kids don’t do well, no bonus for Teach. Teach do good, Teach gets more money. Teach do bad, Teach gets no money. Why is that so bad? Incentivized pay is a huge tool in the Private sector to generate more producution and higher quality products and services. I guess the School Union doesn’t want neither and is content with the sub-standard results some say the old system has been cranking out for years. Its the whole “it takes a village” thing I guess.

Heaven help us if we single out the low producing and less motivated teachers. Let’s just keep paying the lousy teachers the same as the good ones. You know what happens to workers when they see the slackers and screw ups making the same money as they are? There is no motivation to set youself apart from those losers. Earth to the Teachers Union, this isn’t the Post Office, you’re teaching (or suppose to be) our kids here!

Get a clue Teachers Union. You’re always wondering why the Teachers Union has such a low perception with the Public. Helloooo, Knock, knock, the lights on is anyone home?

This bonus system is good for our kids. It may be lousy for crappy Teachers, but as taxpayers and concerned parents, I for one could care less about the slacker Teachers and whether or not they get paid. I want the crappy Teachers gone! Let them go apply for the night manager job at the nearest Quicky Mega Mart serving slushes to the drunks, they certainly don’t belong in Teaching.

Let’s reward the good Teachers. Those that actually can teach and know how it’s suppose to be done. It’s our tax dollars, we should have a say as to how its being spent. And for once, in this case, we are.

I heard about the story of Sen. Whitmires (D, Houston)Â profanity laced rage from another person the other day. I didn’t believe it simply because I figured if it was true, the news would have been all over it.

After a little digging, I found a podcast of the incident. Seems Senator Whitmire was throwing a fit because he was not on the floor at the time of a vote on the Voter ID bill and his vote was not counted.

In fact, he became so belligerent, that Lt. Gov Dewhurst had to ask him to compose his self or remove his self from the Senate Floor.

At one point, Whitemire can be heard saying “I was working the G**D**n floor”. Apparently there were other comments the microphone did not pick up.

From my research, this isn’t the first time Sen. Whitmire has lost his temper on the Senate floor.

My question is, where is all the media stories on this? Why did I have to spend nearly 30 minutes to try and find this story.

If Sen. Dan Patrick or Sen. Williams had pulled such a stunt, every news outlet in the State would have been all over it. It would have been all you’d heard for days. They’d probably even asked for their resignation. But not Democrat Senator Whitmire.

He sets a fine example for all Texans.

Top Senators in the U.S. Senate and negotiators from the White House hacked out a bipartisan deal yesterday that would grant amnesty to between 12 and 20 million illegal aliens already here in the U.S.

Folks, if you saw how George Bush and Ted Kennedy were practically tripping over each other to announce this deal, you’d known instantly that it smelled rotten all the way to the top. Anytime Ted Kennedy comes out and tells me he has something good for me, I run the other way.

This Bill, should it pass both Houses and then be signed by the President, would grant illegals that are already here amnesty in exchange for a fine and some paper work. The U.S. will basically turn itself into a legal imigrant smuggler.

I’m sorry, that’s just not good enough.

Already there is opposition to this amnesty bill from both sides. The Republicans are saying it’s an amnesty bill (rightly so) and the Liberal Dems are crying that it will affect the illegal families (umm….what about our families?) and they’re upset that it puts a point system on job skills, education and criminal background. Basically the better you are for this country, the better chances you’d have to get in. Why the Dems are against that, I have no idea. I guess it has something to do with their base being uneducated types.

Personally, this is how I see it going down. The powers that be that are in favor of this deal know they’re going to have to ram this thing through quickly or it will get dragged down. Those in favor don’t want this Bill hanging around come election time. Look for the Teddy Boy and Uncle George to try and ram this down our throats.

Our only chance is to contact our Senators and Congressmen/women and have them stand against this outrageous amnesty bill. I sincerely doubt it would do any good to contact Uncle George. He’s had his heart set on granting amnesty all the way back to when he was Gov.

Here’s how to contact your U.S. Senators. Click here.

Here’s how to contact your U.S. Representative. Click here.

This is real simple to do folks. Take a few minutes to send each of your Congressmen a note. You can either do that or continue to set on your ass and bitch and whine about the illegal imigration issues. I know bitching and whining are the safe bets for a lot of you, so try something different this time and actually do something about it! And while you’re at it, tell your dead beat family members and friends to get off their lazy and whiny asses and do something about it besides throwing back a 6 pack and whatching the game.

Tell your Congressman or woman that you’ve had it with the imigration issue. Tell them it’s time to build the wall and take away the incentives that are keeping the 12 to 20 million illegals here in OUR country. Tell them it’s time to begin the mass roundup of illegals and deportation of illegal imigrants needs to begin Yesterday!

Ron Paul this. Ron Paul that. Ron Paul can part the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Ron Paul can jump tall buildings with a single bound. Ron Paul can walk on water.

If you listen to Ron Paul supporters, he can do all this and more.

Just who is Ron Paul and why should anyone vote for him as President of the United States?

Ron Paul is a Republican Congressman from Texas who is running for President of the United States.

I’ve never paid much attention to Ron Paul since he doesn’t represent me. Over the years I’d hear snippets of some googey stuff he’s said or silly crap he’d done. But I never gave it much thought. That is until he started to run for President.

At first I thought it was a joke. When I realized this guy was serious, I started to do my research into what it is he stands for and his beliefs. Boy, was I in for a surprise.

Ron Paul supporters will tell you he leans toward being a Libertarian, although he is registered as a Republican. (this was my first red flag) However, when I review his voting record, I see he is all over the place. The meter swings far left to the Liberal side and back across the scale to the Conservative side, with a few stops in the middle. From what I can tell though, it stays a little left of conservative.

His supporters will tell you that he is a strict Constitutionist. I will admit he tries to hold that line, however, again his actions don’t support that view 100%.

Ron Paul voted against the War in Irag. To be honest, when I read that, he pretty much lost me. This showed me that he has Liberal tendancies that he cannot control.

During the May 15th Republican debates, that Liberal tendancy really came out when he stated on National TV that the U.S. was the cause of 9-11 attacks because of our presence in the Middle East. Thank God Rudy was there to slap him back in place!

However, even after Rudy brought the house down with his comeback to Ron Paul’s “we’re responsible for 9-11″ statement, he was given other chances to explain his statement and he just ketp saying the same thing! DUH

This guy looked like a deer in the headlights. I couldn’t help but think to myself “and there are many people who want this guy as the next President of the United States”.

I was absolutely embarrassed to be from the same State as Ron Paul!

But let me back track to Ron Pauls Congressional record.

Ron Pauls Voting Record

Ron Paul voted against the Intelligence Authorization Act but it passed anyway. This Bill authorizes the appropriations for fiscal year 2008 for intelligence and intelligence-related activities of the United States Government.

I guess Ron Paul thinks we do not need Intelligence to keep track of our enemies.

Ron Paul voted against the Agriculture Disaster Assistance Appropriations Act.Â

I guess he thinks the Farmers are on their own.

Ron Paul voted FOR the “Cut-N-Run” Bill that the Democrats tried to push on the President.

I’m smelling a Liberal trying to be a Conservative here

Ron Paul voted against the Student Loan Sunshine Act. (he is 1 of only 3 Congressmen to vote against it) This law establishes requirements for Lenders and Institutions. It’s aim is to protect Students and other borrowers receiving educational assistance.

I’m sure he has a good excuse on that one…after all…he’s suppose to be “Pro Education”

Ron Paul was a NO VOTE for the Improving Head Start Act. This Bill would improve the Head Start Program. I don’t know why he didn’t vote either for or against this Bill. After all, that’s what he’s in Washington for. Most of the time when a Politician doesn’t vote for a Bill, they’re either not where they should be (in the House) or they’re afraid of their constituents actions if they Vote they way they want, not their consituents. So they end up not voting at all and hoping no one notices.

I have no idea what Ron Paul has against the Head Start program, you’ll have to ask him.

Ron Paul voted Against the Wild Horse Protection Act. This Bill would restore the prohibition on the Commercial sale and slaughter of Wild free-roaming Horses and Burros.

Maybe Ron enjoys a hot juicy horse steak once in a while?

Ron Paul was a NO VOTE on the Water Resources Developement Act. This Bill provides for the conservation and development of water and related resources and to authorize the Secretary of the Army to construct various projects for improvements to rivers and harbors of the United States.

I guess Ron is against clean water and flood control?

Ron Paul was a NO VOTE the Advanced Fuels Infrastructure Research & Developement Act. This Bill facilitates the development of markets for alternative fuels and Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel through research, development, and demonstration and data collection

So much for decreasing our dependence on foreign oil.

Ron Paul voted NO on the Creating Long-Term Energy Alternatives for the Nation Act. This Bill reduces our Nation’s dependency on foreign oil by investing in clean, renewable, and alternative energy resources, promoting new emerging energy technologies, developing greater efficiency, and creating a Strategic Energy Efficiency and Renewables Reserve to invest in alternative energy.

Another NO for alternative energy research hunh Paul?

Okay, this is getting ugly now. These votes all happened in the first part of 2007. As you can see, he leans more Liberal than Conservative.

The more we learn about Ron Paul, the more it’s clear that he runs as a Republican, says he’s more like a Libertarian and acts more like a Liberal.

Ron Pauls Twilight Zone

You can’t dismiss his actions in the latest Presidential Debates either. In the first debate, he was asked what decisions he’s made that affected a large group of peoople. He mumbled and fumbled for a few minutes and couldn’t think of anything to say. He then said he “guessed” his decisions he made as a Doctor affected many people.

I immediately thought “What an idiot, he’s a Congressman, all his decisions affect a large group of people“. However, if you look at his voting record, you quickly see he’s on the losing end of many Bills, so I guess his time as a Congressman really doesn’t affect a lot of people afterall.

When I first started looking into Ron Paul, I liked some of his ideas and even agreed with him on a few. But it doesn’t take long to realize that Ron Paul’s ideas and beliefs are not realistic.

Don’t Adjust Your TV, It’s Just Ron Paul

Let’s just slip into the Twilight Zone for a second and see the United States on the day after the newly elected President, Ron Paul, takes Office. As Rod Sterlings says “Ron Paul has many ideas and beliefs he wants to implement as the new President of the United States. But there’s a detour up ahead and that detour will take Ron Paul into the….Twilight Zone”

What do you think would happen if Ron tried to end all the Departments in the Government that he wanted to? How about getting all the Bills passed he wanted to? Not going to happen folks. Both parties would be against him and he’d have the largest Lame Duck Presidency this country has ever seen. He’s spend his days in the Oval Office running in circles chasing his tail.

Now we return you to the regularly scheduled program.

And at the end of the day, Ron Paul just does not act nor look Presidential. I have nothing against him as a human being, I bet he’s a nice guy. But there are a lot of nice guys in this World who have no business being the President of the United States. I include Ron Paul in that group.
