Dallas Cop Pulls Over Texan Running Back Moats For Running Red Light, World Outraged

Seriously, wtf! A Dallas PD Officer pulls over Houston Texas running back Randy Moats for running a red light on the way to see his dying Mother In Law. Tragic yes. But as the Police Officer pointed out, Moats does not have the right to race down city streets and blow through stops signs and Red Lights just because his MIL is dying, even if he did have the Hazard lights on. Or just because he’s a Houston Texan NFL player.

Then, as if that isn’t bad enough, Moats gets into an argument with the Cop and keeps trying to talk over him, after refusing to stop when the Cop put his lights on him. Then Moats lies about having insurance. Only after the Cop threatens to have his car towed does Moats miraculously finds his Insurance card.

Two things surprised me about this. One is the sympathy some people is feeling for Moats. Not because of his MIL, but because he was stopped by the Dallas PD for driving reckless. It’s the Cop’s fault! The Cop made him run red lights and stop signs while driving at a high rate of speed!

Of course, those same ones would be wanting to lynch the Cop if he had let Moats go and Moats had T-boned a car with their family members inside, or hit one of the family members while racing down those streets.

None of the responsiblility lies with Moats I guess. Not the fact that he wasn’t at the Hospital to begin with, not the fact that he refused to pull over after the Cop put the lights on him, not the fact that he ran a red light and stop sign, nor the fact that he got into an argument with the Cop at the Hospital and then lied to him.

I doubt this would have even been an issue if Moats had simply stopped, got out calmly and explained that he was taking his Wife to see her dying mother at the Hospital. But since he didn’t so any of those things, it’s the Cops fault.

Could the Cop had handled this in a different manner? Sure, he probably handled it a little different. But at the end of the day, Moats cost his self more time by lying, arguing and failing to stop. The Cop was just doing his job.

The other thing that surprises me is the action of the Dallas Police Chief. A real class act throwing one of your Officers under the bus. No wonder this jerk has little respect from the Men and Women who serve under him. If anyone should be fired, it’s the Police Chief. Instead of thinking of his own Political career, he should have his Officers back and take up for them when they’re doing the job they were hired to do.

Here’s the video for you, judge for yourself.

Whats as scary as anything else is that someone could look at that video and then write an “article” such as the one above. Your embellishments about what transpired and complete lack of perspective on this makes you a dangerous person. People like yourself are as dangerous as any crackhead ever was, because you allow huge injustices to prevail while blindly adhering to selective morality. I find you evil and repugnant, and while you walk through life , no doubt espousing the virtues of God and country, you personify the worst elemnts of society. Anyone who could even suggest that this officer shouldnt be fired and never allowed in an enforcement capacity again anywhere scares me as much as any gang, crackhead or thug out there, because you can see those people and take precautions. People like you practice a much more insidious brand of evil. You spread hate, intolerance. and selective morality while pretending to be morally superior, god-fearing upstanding citizens. And if there is a God, I would love to see you and others defend this video and this cops actions to Him/Her. I have to think He would hang His head in shame at his beautiful creation of mankind and freewill gone horribly wrong.

i am so upset over this he did not say who he was (no name dropping) and yes hiss lights were on and he was somewhat cautious . the so called cop was such a as-hole! lets see how you would react in this kind of situation i certainly would run as many red lights that were in my way looking all ways. i am white and i believe this was definitely racial profiling . i truly feel bad for these people this cop should be without a job!!!!!

Actually Elmo, I was in a very similar situation about 2 years ago. I stopped a State Trooper and explained my situation. He simply said “Follow Me” and gave me an escort to the Hospital.

I didn’t run red lights and threaten the safety of others around me. I didn’t get out of the car arguing with the Cop.

    @ Pat

Pat, I don’t know the hell you must live with in your little utopian World you’ve created in your mind, but here in the real World, law breakers are punished. If you had watched that video objectively, you would see exactly what I was talking about.

I’d like to know what “injustice” you’re talking about? You mean allowing someone to break multiple laws and threaten the safety of innocent people? If Moats had really been so interested in getting into the Hospital before his MIL passed away, he wouldn’t have been arguing with the Cop and lying to him about his Insurance. All that time he spent doing that could have been spent inside with his MIL.

Like the Cop said “Attitude is everything”.

As we all know by now, the Cop resigned and some reports have him working at another Dallas area PD. Good for him, I hope his new Captain will stand behind his Men better than the Dallas Chief did.
